Lemon Spa Experience

Tuesday, August 12, 2014

I'm not the type of girl who would usually visit a Hand and Foot Spa to pamper myself and have my nails groomed. I prefer trimming and polishing my own nails since I am very sensitive when it comes to pain and besides I don't think paying for something I can do myself is not at all practical. However, my Mom who particularly likes going to a spa to unwind asked me this time (Hmm..perhaps commanded would best describe her tone) to accompany her at the spa place near our home. Mom's work requires her standing for hours (Heck, I've even seen her run while at it), so I guess she deserves this kind of pampering and going with her would be my small contribution in making it up to her.

REVIEW: Crystal Color Contact Lens in Peridot Brown

Friday, February 28, 2014

Crystal Color Contact Lens in Peridot Brown, Lens case and a Manual
Hi ladies, so here's another (super late) review post about Crystal Clear Contact Lens  which I purchased last December. This is my second pair of contact lens, the first one was from Verona Optical Shop located at SM San Lazaro but unfortunately I forgot to blog about it. I lost all the things that comes with the product before I realized that I missed to post about it. Tee-hee!

I started wearing contact lens when I was in 3rd year college. I preferred to buy a pair of contacts to avoid wearing glasses whenever I dance or perform outdoor activities. I also preferred not to get my contact lens from optical shops which I found were way too expensive compared to online shops. So the last time I visited an Optical shop I took note of my grade and purchased a contact lens online.

Fast Facts:

* Origin: South Korea
* Diameter: 14.8 mm
* My Grade: -0.50 (both)
* Base Curve: 8.7
* Water: 42%
* Power: Plano
* Shelf life: 5 years
* Life span: 1 year
* Manufactured by: Color Vision
* Price: PHP 299.00 with Free Lens case and a 35 ml Lens Solution
* Where to buy: My Fashion Lenses and Beauty House (Facebook & Instagram)

In choosing colors for my contacts, I usually go for either Brown or Black. I've never tried the other colors. But if given a chance, I would love to try the Gray or the Amethyst ones. I feel I am not ready yet for colors that will change my eyes completely as it feels like I'm an alien out of nowhere.

My Retrospective view:

I never thought that I would be wearing any contacts as comfortable as this one. It feels like you're not wearing any contacts at all. My eyes tend to dry so fast so I keep an eye lubricant handy or I will just wear the contacts for a maximum of 6 hours. And also equally important for me is I didn't experience any itchy feeling with this particular lens. The color is so vibrant and yet looks so natural. I got a lot of compliments whenever I wear this lens so yeah, I frequently used this the past 3 months.
L: no contacts; R: wearing the Crystal Color Contact Lens and below without and with flash

I was so amazed how it transformed my eyes. It gives a pop-up effect instantly. I so love it!

Oh yeah!

- Affordable. I think this is the cheapest price I've seen online.
- No burning sensation.
- Comfortable to wear.
- Looks so natural.

Na-ah!

- There was this one time that I left them on its lens case and  after a week or two of not wearing them, I checked the contacts only to find that the water and the lens dried up. And I don't know why :( I need to soak the lens again for a week for it to be back to its normal condition. So right now, I ended up checking the lens every so often.

Tips/Recommendations:

- Use it only for 6 hours maximum per day.
- Make sure your hands are clean and dry before touching your lens.
- I use an Eye Lubricant whenever I feel dryness on my eyes.
- Don't sleep with contacts on.
- Use sunglasses whenever you go outside to avoid small particles coming to your eyes.

Repurchase?

A definite Yes! Planning to get another color and other variety.

I also bought a Hello Kitty Travel Lens case from Greenhills.

I use the tweezers-like clip to get my contact lens to avoid contamination. I would usually buy a large bottle of solution and fill the small bottle for use whenever I have an out of town trip or something.

Do you wear contact lenses too? Can you suggest any color?
Tell me your thoughts about this.
Stay beautiful, mi loves. And always wear your invisible crown.

To The Best Thing That's Ever Been Mine (An Open Letter)

Tuesday, February 04, 2014

First of all, I just want you to know that I did love you. I am so sorry that we have to end up like this. I never thought I'd find myself in this place, but you ultimately put me here. I can't tell if I am mad or what. It just feels like it happens so fast. It's sad someone you loved can turn into a complete stranger.

Deal With Real Life

Sunday, February 02, 2014

Hi Ladies! Sorry for being MIA for almost a month. I missed blogging!! I missed reading blogs of my co-bloggers. But here I am, back to business. I have lots of pending posts and I promise to update this blog more often.

The Donya just went through hell this month and I had to face all the trials life threw at me all alone. I always wanted to post an update this past few days, but nothing good came out in my mind so I ended up signing out and facing problems again. The bright side of this is that I realized lots of things from every trial that crossed my way.

1. If you feel weird about something during a relationship.. speak up.

I think we can't have a relationship without fights, tears, pain, arguments, misunderstandings and jealousy. But to make it work they must have faith, trust, patience, sweetness, love, laughter and two people wanting to be together no matter what. Speak up for your heart, so that you won't have regrets. Your partner is not a fortune teller or a mind reader to know what's going on in your head. A relationship is worth fighting, but you can't be the only one fighting. So yeah.. Heartbroken ang donya hahaha!

2. Have as much contact as possible with older people.

Photo Credits
I met people at my former job who are older than I am and I am so thankful about it. I never knew that I would fit in their circle. This is so valuable to me because people my age don’t usually have the decision-making ability to help me very much. Also, they know almost everything you will learn later, so I always ask them. Whether it's my love life issues, work problems, family and etc. Thank you to my two former bosses and my former partner who I considered friends now. I will always be thankful that you came into my life.

3. Reduce all expenses as much as possible.

Photo Credits
Do I need to explain this?! I mean it. I'm dying to buy the iPhone 5 even the one with the S but I'm trying hard to control myself to save my remaining money for something worth spending.

4. Get a flat tummy.. Summer is here!

Potipot Island this February/March then a pool party this April? Bring it on! They said while we are young our hormones are in a better condition to help us achieve the body we want. So I shouldn't waste any opportunity. I should use my Roller Slide more often.

5. I should sleep early or at least have a 5 hours sleep.

Photo Credits
I feel so inefficient when I slept so late or I only had a 3 hours sleep. My sleep deprivation is not helping me good anymore, so I should change my body clock now except weekends please.

6. Learn to let go and move on.

There's a point in your life when you get tired of trying to fix everything and trying to stick yourself to all the people you can't live without. When you finally decided to quit, it's not giving up. It's realizing you have to let go these people to realize that if they wanted to stay, they'd still be there.

7. Stop doubting yourself. Work hard. Make it happen.

They say you die twice in this world. First, when you stop breathing and second when somebody say's your name for the last time. I wanna leave a legacy. Something that people will remember the real me. Something that I can help other people. I am proud to say that I am one step closer to my dream because I do really believe that I can make it. Time is running out. I'm gonna go confidently in the direction of my dreams. Live the life I've imagined.

I'm sorry for ranting about my life right now but this blog is my breather. It really feels so good blogging personal stuffs. I'll try to be back and do some reviews again! Thank you for reading my non-sense post today!

Thank you for visiting my blog and stay beautiful. Always!

Three Things to Cross Out

Monday, December 30, 2013
Hi ladies! I can't believe that we are now turning into another year. Time flies really fast. There are lots of things happened to me this year and I feel so blessed with every blessings that came out of my way including some of my Christmas wishlist that came true.

If ever you missed my Christmas wishlist post just click HERE.

First on my wishlist that came true: WEDGE SNEAKERS!

It's Christmas Eve when I got this wedge sneakers. I bought this at Department Store at SM San Lazaro - S&H Kiosk. I really want to have another pair of wedge sneakers because it is so comfortable and so hippy. I love the way people stare at my shoes whenever I ride a jeep or walking down the streets. Haha. Attention-whore lang?! But seriously I do love it, it makes me feel na worth it yung pinambili ko no!

Then after Christmas I got my DENTAL BRACES installed!

Oh diba? tuwang tuwa lang ang bata? Hahaha. I had my braces installed by the coolest dentist, Dra. Lani Mangahas Destua, super bait niya as in. And fortunately, I didn't have any mouth sores. A little pain on the second day but because I got a high pain tolerance I was able to make it through the day. So happy! Bye crooked teeth!

And last on my list that Santa gave to me.. TRAVEL TO PARISSSSSS!

Charaught! Haha. Naku how I wish.. Srsly, it's the FACE PERFECTION & FACE PRECISION BRUSHES FROM BEAUTY COSMETICS.

I didn't have the pictures of it pa because as the seller said their shipping will resume on January pa. I am so exciteeeeeeeed! It's my first makeup brush set! And thank you to my boyfie for sponsoring this hahaha. Effective ang parinig sa FB :p

Three on my wishlist came true and I am so happy. Maybe I was so nice and a little naughty this year that's why Santa granted three wishes only. Pakabait na talaga ko next time hehehe :p

I wish all your wishes also came true this Christmas. I hope you had a great time with your family and loved ones this season.

Happy New Year everyone!

My 2013 Christmas Wishlist

Wednesday, December 11, 2013

I can really feel the Christmas now. From the twinkling lights of neighboring houses, children's singing Christmas carols, beautiful Christmas decors and left and right bazaars, Christmas is truly just around the corner. This is my favorite season of the year. This is the only time where our family and other relatives gets together. I think it's not too late to wish for something this Christmas and I hope Santa is reading this post right now because here's my 2013 Christmas Wishlist.

Finally! Custom Domain Name.

Monday, December 09, 2013
Finally, I got my own custom domain name now! All my researches about having a own custom domain paid off. Sa una medyo alangan pa, ang dami kong doubts. I'd been in front of my computer for a week deciding whether I should get a domain now. As in ang gulo ng isip ko. Gusto ko tapos maya maya ayaw ko na. Umabot sa puntong naiinis na ko haha. And that's where I got my blog's tagline. I have a twisted mind talaga.

Starting Over Again

Saturday, December 07, 2013

How many times na ba ko nagpalit ng blog name?! I can't understand myself. Haaay! Hormooones. Blame it to the hormones. But I AM STICKING TO THIS BLOG NAME. Promise! Di na ko magpapalit. *cross finger*

Why changing the blog name all of sudden?
- The main reason why I suddenly change my blog name is that I wanna have my own domain name. I was weighing WP and Blogspot this past few days. I was doing some research and I asked few bloggers I knew which is the best platform. Most of them: Wordpress. So okay I tried WP. But I ended up lost in how to customize the blog. Mas gamay ko talaga tong Blogger. I know na later on I'm gonna learn how to tick wordpress pero nakakashunga talaga siya. So I ended up going back here sa Blogger. Ang gulo ng BlogLayp ko no?

What's in my Travel Makeup Kit

Hey Ladies! What can you say about my new blog template? Isn't cute? I'm so happy that I did all the customization without spending any cost on it. I'd been in front of my laptop for 8 hours I think while my stomach ache intensely. Whoa! That's equivalent of my office hours. Enough for bragging, let's move on to my topic.

Yeah! You read it right. Here's another personal post about things I hate to admit. Did it happen to you too that one morning you wake up and you realized that "Ganun nga talaga ako!" o "Ganun ba talaga ako?". There are lots of things happened to me this past few days and sometimes I ended up sitting alone and thinking things that I have to let go and things that I should hold on to. No doubt CLINGY nga ko. Letting go is one of my weaknesses. I hate the feeling I should let go something so important to me and I don't even have a choice. And I don't even know if this is good or not. Argh! I hate this feeling.

REVIEW: NYX Lip Smacking Fun Colors Lipsticks

Monday, September 23, 2013

Hi Ladies! How's your week? I have lots of pending blog updates to post but as usual I'm tired as hell everyday after work. The traffic jam is killing me! But I don't have a choice anyway.

So let me go straight to this post. For those of you who don't know, back in college I was into online selling of cosmetic brands straight from the US. That was the time I got very fond of lipsticks. Of all makeups, lipstick is really my choice. I have dark lips due to Asthma when I was seven and as time went on it became darker and darker. But thankfully now it is not as dark just like before. And one of the lipstick brands that I first tried is this NYX Lip Smacking Fun Color Lipstick.

What is it?
It's a velvet-textured lipstick formulated with mineral oils to provide moisturizing benefits and rich colors. NYX's best selling lipstick, the Round lipstick offers long-lasting, non-smudging colors (NYX Website)  I own 4 different shades of this lipstick. And I purchased this 6 months ago. Hahaha! I never knew that I'll be blogging again and I even forgot this product. Natabunan na kasi ng mga bago. And this is one of the best selling products online when I was still doing online selling.

Packaging?

It is a black tube with a cute font on the packaging. It looks cheap but in 6 months time I had this it didn't break unlike the Pinkies Collection Lipstick I owned. I love the bottom part of it that shows the color of lipstick. It has an easy twist lippies and it glides so smoothly whenever you twist it down.

Price?

I bought this for 90 pesos at that time. I don't know if they increased their price. But for those who don't want to purchase this online, it is locally available at Pure Beauty in Serendra and I think NYX Philippines recently open at SM Fairview.

My Review.

Pros..

  • So creamy and pigmented! I love how it glides smoothly on my lips. One swatch and you'll be fine.
  • A wide selection of shades. You're gonna drool over the hundred color to choose from.
  • The scent. It has a Vanilla scent that I love. When I put this one I just want to eat the lippie because it really smells delicious.
  • The price. Very affordable. This is the product I bought without fear of wasting the money.
Cons..
  • Melts easily. I remember I bought this last summer. It really melts when I open the lipstick. This is not good in hot temperature. You can see the melted Louisiana shade below.
  • Doesn't stay long. You need to apply this one every now and then.
  • Use lip balm. It may dries your lips especially in humid places.
Overall..

I definitely love this lipstick. It's my first love! They are cheap and make you beautiful. I just have to put it in the refrigerator to maintain the shape of the lipstick. I love that I got a hard time picking for the colors to buy because they really have pretty colors to choose from. Swatches here at their website.

Repurchase?

Yes! I would love to have the remaining shades!

Here are the NYX Lipsticks I bought..
NYX Round Lipstick in Fire

I am not a Red lipstick fan because I'm afraid to look skanky.
 But this is definitely suited for Morena girls.
NYX Round lipstick in Sierra
This shade is perfect for "No Makeup" Look.
NYX Round Lipstick in Louisiana
This is the ruined lipstick! Its my fave. It melted and I just use lipstick brush for me to use this.

I am really in looove with this color!
NYXRound Lipstick in Frappucino
I forgot to do a skin swatch of this. This is too pale for me and
 I think this is suited for those who have a fair skin.

Have you tried one of NYX Round Lipsticks? How is it for you?

REVIEW: OMG (Oh My Golly) Mini Nail Color

Saturday, September 21, 2013

Hi Ladies!

This is a late post actually. I scheduled this post yesterday but it's my Mom's birthday and I thought I'll gonna have time on blogging. So this is just a review of a nail polish I got last weekend while strolling at Department Store at SM Manila. I decided to try this for a week before giving out some of my thoughts about this.

What is it?

Oh My Golly is a local brand of nail polish by Klik manufactured by Ming Mei Cosmetics. It is one of the popular nail polish because of its trendy colors that goes with every style. I actually bought two colors; Prom Queen and Bikini. I'm so in love with this color. The name suits the color itself. It is really perfect for proms, don't you think? Ooh! How I miss high school.

Packaging?

This packaging is different from the other OMG nail polish I saw while choosing the color I want to buy. I think this is the packaging for the Mini nail polish. Not sure of it though. The bottle contains 8 ml which is enough for me. I really want nail polish that comes with this size. Admit it, you always end up having a dried up nail polish because you bought the full size.This bottle is really good for those who want to try the product first before jumping to the bigger size.

Price?

Each bottle contains 8 ml for Php 20.00. Not bad ah.

My Review.

Pros..
  • Affordable.
  • I love how the color matches my skin.
  • Very opaque. 1-2 colors are enough to cover your nails.
  • Unique names that suited the color.
  • Easy to use because of the curve at the handle.
Cons..
  • I don't like the smell. It is like the Balloon in the tube, the one you blow with a small, thick straw. If you had an awesome childhood you know what I mean. Haha.
  • The long strand of the brush. I personally hate brushes with a long strand, I prefer a brush similar with Bobbi.
  • Not quick dry. I immobilize my hand for an hour just to make sure it will not mess up.
  • Doesn't last long. It started to chip out after three or four days.
Overall..

Hmm. What can I say I love everything that comes in Purple and Red. I'm being biased here. Hehe. If this product lasts long for a week or two it will be great. I love how OMG named their polishes with an eye catching names. The color are so trendy that you want to buy one color every shade. This brand is my favorite so far. But I'm not replacing Bobbi as my top favorite because I love their brush.

Repurchase?

Definitely, YES! I would love to own more colors of it.

Nail swatches..

OMG PROM DATE
Sorry for the lightning. It's a little bit yellowish but I guess the nail color is still visible.
OMG BIKINI
 Have you tried this OMG Nail Color? What is your favorite shade?
